The TrueKeys difference

A finely tuned piano doesn’t just sound better. It feels alive.

Your piano is a precision instrument holding tons of tension across hundreds of strings. Utah’s dry air and seasonal swings pull it out of tune faster than most places. We bring it back with patience, a trained ear and a technique built for stability — so the tuning lasts long after we leave.

Hear the difference

That subtle shimmer? It’s strings disagreeing.

Most piano notes are struck on two or three strings at once. When they drift apart, you hear a wavering “beat” that makes even simple music sound tired. Press play to hear a note before and after a tuning.

Tip: use headphones. Each piano note has two or three strings — when they disagree, you hear that “wah-wah” beating.

Questions

Good to know.

Quick answers to what people ask most. Still curious? Just reach out.

Most pianos should be tuned at least once a year, and twice a year for pianos that are played daily, used for teaching, or sit in rooms with big seasonal humidity swings — which, in Utah’s dry climate, is most of them. Pianos used for performance or recording are often tuned before each event.
